China’s first EJM200/6-2 tunneling and anchoring machine was successfully launched at Aerospace Heavy Industry(AHI), adding a new member to the company’s intelligent mining equipment.

This project is a new product jointly developed by AHI and Liaoning University of Engineering and Technology, mainly used for safe and rapid tunneling in coal mine shafts, achieving coordinated operation of tunneling, top and side rapid support, and anchoring. The whole machine includes the tunneling main body, support system, anchoring system, hydraulic system, electrical system, water system, and front exploration drill. The tunneling main body includes the cutting part, shoveling part, main body part, walking part, first conveyor, support part, etc., and the support system is composed of the main support, auxiliary support, and side support. The anchoring system includes eight sets of anchor rod drilling devices.

It is reported that traditional tunneling and anchoring machines must stop supporting and anchoring every one or two meters of tunneling. The tunneling and anchoring machine uses several innovative technologies such as synchronous walking technology of four crawlers, telescopic full-section shoveling board, segmented first transportation, rotary platform sliding type main body, multi-degree-of-freedom articulated steering technology, and positioning correction automatic cutting system. The support system uses a step-by-step walking method, cyclic steel beam support technology, and non-repeated rolling flexible support technology. The anchoring system uses multi-drilling machine anchoring technology and anchoring anti-vibration technology.

According to the project leader, Guo Jianfeng, the project first proposed and realized a three-stage feed-type cutting operation mode in China, successively overcoming technical difficulties such as the inability to perform concurrent operations of tunneling, support, and anchoring, the conventional tunneling machine’s shoveling board being unable to collect materials in one go, and the conventional advanced support equipment repeatedly rolling the roof plate, etc., featuring efficient and coordinated tunneling, support, and anchoring, non-repeated rolling flexible support, and full-section no-dead-angle shoveling and transportation.

In recent years, AHI has targeted the pain points of the mining market, established a “Smart Mining Project Team,” integrated 5G, AI, cloud computing, vehicle networking and other technologies to create a series of intelligent mining equipment, and has successively developed the world’s first new energy explosion-proof electric transport vehicle, the world’s largest 363-ton mining vehicle, the world’s largest 100-ton support car and shoveling vehicle, and the world’s largest extreme cold unmanned mining vehicle, becoming a service provider that can provide intelligent mining transportation operation system solutions for both open-pit mines and underground mines in China.
